Welcome to jofty’s Corner.

If you’re a fan of exercising your personal agency, you may enjoy my writing perspective. :)

If you are, or know someone who is:

  • Facing Burnout

  • Struggling (and/or winning) with PTSD

  • Frequently Overwhelmed

  • A Recovering Perfectionist

  • Seeking Self-Reflection and Personal Growth

  • Involved in Significant/Rapid Life Change

  • Retired or Retiring from the Military

  • A Child from a Military Family

  • Curious About Empathy

You may be in the right place. 8^)

A career warrior turned budding philosopher… hi, my name is Terry. Online I go by jofty. :)

I post a missive here every Saturday covering topics of a philosophical nature based on my ongoing recovery from 24 years of active duty military service. As of May 2025, this community is growing slowly as I focus primarily on writing my first book.

If you look around and find something you like, feel free to subscribe and come along for the ride! 8^)

*Note: All (most) posts have a voice-over. With the Substack app, I will read you my missives while you go about your daily life. :)

After writing on Substack for a few months, I set a deadline of 1 Aug 25 to provide my next progress update on my book(s). It seems a very early step of that process is to refine an outline of the published content here. I’m workin’ on it. ;^p

Regarding what this place is and will be, I also addressed the question: What are We Building Here? As for why I started writing, I also attempted to answer the question: “Why Now” in my first post in November of 2024.

Live Video Chats

We did one live video chat and I imagine we’ll do more in the future.

Here’s a clip from my first video chat about how I’ll likely rename this place at some point.

Welcome to my little corner of the Internet.
